faridabad। An Inter-Society Badminton tournament was organised for the first time in Faridabad by Homerton Grammar School, Sector-21 A with a belief that an athlete’s mindset and physical stamina is a long term asset which enables him to lead a successful life. The highly charged sports event took place within the school premises at their State-of-the-Art Multipurpose Hall housing 2 badminton courts and 6 table tennis tables.
More than 200 participants coming from various apartments and societies like Jal Vidyut Apartment, ShubhamApartment, Shurbhi Apartment, Sarang Apartment, Ground Vista, Mahesh Apartment, Kapil Vihar, Pragati Apartment, Prem Apartment, Retech Apartment, Vasundra Apartment, Krishna Vihar, PrateekKunj from Sector-21C, Sadbhawana Apartment, Ramakrishna Apartment, IFCI Apartment, Citizen Apartment, Leisure Valley, Saraswati, Sanskriti, Hydel, Dhruv, Vaishali, Nav Shakti Apartment From Sector-46, Shiva Apartment, Prabhu Apartment, ShivlokApartment, Palmwood, Parwana Apartment, Farihills Society, Surya Apartment, Kalibadi Apartment, A.I.M.S. Apartment,Manglam Apartment, Kaveri Apartment, LalleshwarVatika, Samridhi Apartment from Sector-21D, Geeta Niwas Apartment from Sector-48, Rail Vihar, UrjaVihar from Sector-45, participated with great energy and enthusiasm in the sports event.
The Badminton Championship was categorized based on age groups as Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16. Apart from the in-house trainers, top coaches and referees were invited to judge the tournament of more than 200 badminton players. The young stars showed exceptional grit and perseverance during the competition against one another for the Winner’s Trophy.
In another segment of the day’s events, Drawing Competition was held for the tiny tots of these societies. The little children were categorized under the age group 2-4 years, 5-8 years, and 9-14 years, and they participated in the Drawing Competition where the children showed great aptitude and talent with their brush.
Every participant was honoured with a certificate and a souvenir. Mr. Dhanesh Adlakha, Vice Chairman , Pharmacy Council of Haryana graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
